I am joining the challenge at Watercooler Wednesday again this week. Our challenge is Kath's Masculine "Anything Goes" Challenge, and this is my card.
This is one of the cards I made for my mum. I make all her cards for the year, and am actually ahead this year. Lewis won't be eighteen 'til next October (it's ok, he doesn't know I have a blog, never mind read it!)
This card is a bit special. Mum always puts money in our birthday cards, so this card has a secret pocket. Do you see the little pull-tab at the bottom? When you pull it the inside of the card appears.
The top section has a little pocket to put the money in, and the bottom section has a space to write your message.
I was inspired by Lawn Fawn's Double slider surprise die set, but wanted something bigger, so experimented a bit until I worked it out. This card measures 6" x 6". It's a slightly tighter fit than is ideal; you have to give it a good tug, but it's well put together (if I do say so myself) and can take it.
I have made all her grandchildren's birthday cards for next year like this, apart from the over eighteens - they get 'grown up' cards.
Thank you for dropping by
